The skipper from Sea Essay came on board Freyja and then Freyja’s crew visited Sea Essay.

Freyja set out for Cherbourg from St Peter Port in a SSE F3/4. After a few hours the wind back to E and then NE so on with the engine. Getting the tides right took a lot of concentration.

The picture shows Alan Apling about to take action at the chart table on Freyja.

Leaving Cherbourg

On to St Vaast. Nice day but the wind is from the east so not much sailing.

Thursday and Friday 2nd and 3rd September

Freyja left St Vaast at 13.00 on Thursday and arrived at Honfleur at 0300 on Friday morning. Unfortunately a steady E F5/6 so not much sailing. They stopped off to look at Mulberry Harbor off a Aramanche on the way. On entering the Seine there was a bit of fun involving 4 cargo vessels and a dredger.  Friday in Honfleur looks good.

Saturday 4th September

Freyja left Honfleur in the middle of a sailing race and arrived at Fecamp in the middle of a big tri race. They managed to sail for a while but after Cap D’antifer the wind was E F5. Fecamp is very busy.
